Stamp Your Documents' Service
is a patent-pending service comprised
of two elements. The first element is a software
program which creates a digital fingerprint
or "stamp" of your document or file (using
an algorithm designed by the National Security
Agency, ("NSA")) and sends it to our Internet
Servers. We provide this software free of
charge to our customers. The second element
is our Internet Servers, which receive your
digital fingerprint and print out hard copies
of your digital fingerprints at regular intervals
to be recorded with the United States Copyright
Office.
By stamping your document or file with StampYourDocuments.com,
you can prove the date of your document
or file's creation without having to share
your document or file with anybody, even
us!

The Software Program
This software program calculates a
digital fingerprint (using an algorithm
designed by the National Security Agency,
("NSA")) for any digital document or file
that you select. This digital fingerprint
uniquely represents your document or file.
In the same way a human fingerprint can
be used to identify a person, a digital
fingerprint can be used to uniquely represent
your document or file. Also, just as a human
fingerprint by itself cannot be used to
recreate that human, a digital fingerprint
by itself cannot be used to recreate a document
or file. Therefore, you can share your digital
fingerprint with anybody, trustworthy or
not, and that person cannot recreate your
document or file unless they already have
your document or file. Also, your document
or file is never sent to our servers; rather,
the software runs only on your computer.
Like the rest of the world, we can only
see your document or file's fingerprint.
The Digital Fingerprint
The probability that another file, even an
extremely similar file, will result in the
same digital fingerprint is about
1 in 13,400,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000 (there is a better chance you
will win the California Lottery eighteen times
in a row.) Thus, effectively, it uniquely
represents your document. Since it uniquely
represents your document or file, by transmitting
this fingerprint to our Internet Servers,
you can prove the date of your document or
file's creation without sharing your document
or file with anybody, even us!
Our Internet Servers
Our Internet Servers are standing by waiting
for fingerprints to be submitted. When we
receive your document or file's fingerprint
over an encrypted (https://) connection,
we store it securely in our database. At
regular intervals we print out hard copies
of your digital fingerprints and mail them
to the United States Copyright Office. The
main reason why we send the fingerprints
to the Copyright Office is to serve as yet
another source to use to prove the date
of your document or file's creation.
The End Result
By stamping your document or file with StampYourDocuments.com,
you can prove the date of your document
or file's creation without having to share
your document or file with anybody, even
us!
